Sunshine, Suites and…Stanzas!

With not a great deal worth reporting today, for my own entertainment I have put today’s blog post into verse. Here goes…

Two tourists from Tassie went pedalling

On a morn’ of Saturday

When they saw a grand sight

’Twas the sun shining bright

And they shouted “Hip, hip, hip hooray!”

The road it was busy and rugged

Beside them the traffic did shoot

But the drivers were kind

And came up from behind

With an encouraging and friendly horn Toot!

They stopped at the time of elevenses

To snack for the upcoming miles

Found a bench in a square

With a monument there

And watched the town, in the sunshine, with smiles

This looked like a petrified tree trunk. The plaque reads 'From the citizens of Chiusi to all victims of fascist barbarism on the anniversary of the liberation'

The scenery lay out before them

With towns and the hills of such green

They gazed this way and that

While riding roads that were flat

Happy not to climb hills that were mean!

The ride stopped in the small town of Fabro

Where they had lunch in a park with a seat

They found their hotel

Where things went surprisingly well

When their room was upgrade to suite!

There ended a day of more riding

For this Tasmanian pedalling pair

They rode in the sun

It was jolly good fun

Bring on more of this cycling affair!
